Strategies of Epistemic Resistance in Intersectional Anti-Racist Activism: An Analysis of Transmedial and Post-Digital Self-Narratives from the Afro-Hispanic Diaspora

For literature and digital media, the digital space presents an ambivalent landscape characterized by contradictions. On one hand, it dismantles barriers and fosters freedom through transnational connections, diverse publication processes, and varied channels of expression, making it an ideal environment for identity formation, community building, and resistance movements. On the other hand, the perception of the internet as a purely equitable space is misleading, as it simultaneously serves as a site for the (re)production of hegemonic practices. Marginalized communities continue to confront the challenges posed by intersectional oppression within this digital realm. In light of these complexities, this research project aims to explore the analogue and digital cultural and literary productions of the contemporary Afro-Hispanic Diaspora, focusing on a corpus that is integral to antiracist intersectional activism. By analysing the narratives they construct, the discourses they engage with, and the symbols they employ, the objective is to elucidate the strategies of epistemic resistance that emerge within their transmedial self-narratives.
